Clean a Fiberglass Bathtub with Care
Bathtubs made of fiberglass and similar acrylic materials are lighter and easier to install than cast iron or steel tubs. You will find them used in remodeling and new construction. They are great, but are not as durable as porcelain-coated cast iron or steel tubs. A fiberglass tub can be scratched easily if you use the wrong products.
Fiberglass tubs should only be cleaned with a commercial fiberglass cleaner or nonabrasive liquid cleanser. These are usually applied with a damp sponge and rinsed with water.
